Taylor Clarkin Wins 2008 World Youth Speed Climbing Championships!
Posted: 09-24-2008Congratulations to Taylor Clarkin for winning the 2008 IFSC world youth speed climbing championships hosted August 28-31 in Sydney, Australia. As reigning US Youth National Speed Climbing Champion in her age group (Female Youth B :14-15yr), she secured a spot on the ’08 US youth national climbing team. She was the only American competitor amongst the 45 member US youth national team to bring home the Gold this year. Taylor is a member of the AZR ‘Ascenders’ – head coached by Joe Czerwinski. She has been a regular participant in TF youth performance training camps for the past 3 years and has won both peer-elected and coach-elected MVP awards at the multi-day training events. Jon Cardwell - '07 Natl Champion!
Posted: 03-26-2007Jon Cardwell (18yrs) from Albuquerque, NM won the ‘07 USAC Adult Difficulty National Championships March 24-25 at X-Treme in Miami, FL. Jon secured his number 1 spot on the US Men’s Difficulty National Team with a dominating performance on the men’s final, crushing 8 moves further than any other competitor on the .13d route. Jon becomes the 3rd NM resident to win a national title. The resistence circuit training over the past few weeks in TF’s newly constructed “87106 Game Room” private training facility is paying off. Jon will be spending the next 2 months training with Timy in the “Game Room” in preparation for the ‘07 ICC World Cup circuit where he will be spending 3 months in Europe this summer.

'07 KIA Motors ESPN Asian X-Games
Posted: 03-03-2007Timy Fairfield has been contracted by ESPN/STAR Productions as head routesetter of the ‘07 AsianX-Games Bouldering/Speed Climbing event to be hosted in Shanghai, China May 2-5 at the KIC Jiangwan Sports Stadium (cap: 40,000). This represents the 5th consecutive year that Timy Fairfield has rendered his services as routesetter/forerunner and TV sports analyst/commentator for this event. ESPN/STAR entered a 3yr agreement with Waugh Worldwide Productions, LLC, to oversee the climbing competition organization of the event which will be hosted in Shanghai for ‘07, ‘08 & ‘09. With a combined TV viewership of 154 million households, ESPN/STAR Sports broadcasts the Asian X-Games (in it’s 9th yr) throughout Southeast Asia, The Middle East , India, Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand and North America on ESPN Intl., and ESPN II (in the US).
